While he certainly deserves it for what he did to that poor woman, it's disturbing to me that any official body is granted the authority to exact such cruel and unusual punishments. :-/

thieves get thier hands chopped off over there too. I am a little more merciful than that. Maybe just chop half a pinky on the first offence, 2nd offense, chope the ring finger, third offense, then maybe the hand......that would certainly divert a youth from theft.
Mabye just acid inone eye, or mabe the man would wear a brace and be a slave for life to the family of the girl he blinded, but to blind him in both eyes would be somewhat useless, accept as a diversive testimony to those who would think of doing such things.........

Weatherbill, I must say that your penalties for theft are pretty excessive and disproportionate to the crime. Considering theft is a crime in which the victim can be completely reimbursed, a permanent punishment is hardly fitting...
