It ought to be a proud milestone in the Dutch seafaring heritage - the construction of a new ship its owner claims will be the world's largest. But there's one problem: its name. The shipbuilder wants to name it after his father who was condemned for his service in the murderous Nazi Waffen SS.

That name isn't gonna float...

Well it's his ship, he can name it the Fairy F**ckin' Godmother for all I care. Is the guy now going to be pressured to change his last name because he got it from his father as well?

That's true. He's naming it after his father because he was into shipbuilding, not because he was a Nazi.

On top of the fact that he's naming the ship after his father because of his shipbuilding legacy, his father even joined the friggin resistance in 1943! ...and now his very name cannot be used in the Netherlands? WTF? I can understand people raising eyebrows and stuff about the name, but actually protesting to the government? Give me a break!
