The blast, which occurred just after 3 p.m., tore through a popular square in the predominantly Shiite area of Karradah, sending a huge plume of black smoke rising above the flags atop the nearby French Embassy. Officials said eight people were killed and 25 were wounded.

This was a number of blasts put together, I'm not sure why these can't be stopped. Where are they getting the eqipment for these boms. :(
