Jeff Heyes kept the foot long shell on his desk at his print firm. He had been given the object by a friend who had gone diving in the Solent on the South Coast and spotted it on the sea bed. His friend Jon Williamson, a keen shooter, realised the detonator on the shell was still live and the TNT was showing.

A 13-year-old boy from Stuart was arrested after teachers said he was repeatedly passing gas during class. Police said the Spectrum Junior-Senior High School student continually disrupted his class by intentionally passing gas.

Cape Coral police arrested 27-year-old Joshua James Fagan last week, after seeing a pickup truck drive onto a median. When officers stopped the truck, Fagan told them he was teaching his son to drive.

A hunter bagged a big buck on the second day of firearms season, but the kill caused him a lot of pain. Ryan Goodman said the deer looked dead to him, but seconds later the nine-point, 240-pound animal came to life. The buck rose up, knocked Goodman down and attacked him with his antlers in what the veteran hunter called "15 seconds of hell."
